Hard to believe but it's already 20 years that Bon Jovi exists.
Bon Jovi first formed in the suburds of their native New-Jersey in 1983. Much to their surprise, their demo single "Runaway" got aired on local radio and led to a signing with Mercury/Polygram Records.
If you are a fan you will certainly know how successful they have been but in case you don't know them very good, here is their story: nine official albums + one best of "crossroad". They have sold more than 95miilions albums through the world!
Bon Jovi sold more than 6 millions of copies of the New-Jersey album and 12 millions of their greatest hits.
There have also been a series of hit singles including, "Runaway", "You give love a bad name", "Wanted dead or alive", "Livin' on a Prayer",...
After New-Jersey album and 4 big tours through the world Bon Jovi took a break of 4 years.
Jon did a solo record "Blaze of glory" inspired by the movie Young guns 2. The guitarist Richie also worked on his first solo album released in 1991. 
In 1992 they were back on the road with Keep the faith (a great album including "Bed of roses" hit) wich prove to the world that Bon Jovi was not "dead"
After the release of These Days album in 1996, they took a break of 4 years. But it doenst mean that they were on holiday!
Jon worked on movies (Little City, Homegrown,...) and worked on on his second solo album "Destination Anywhere".
Richie Sambora also made his second solo album called "Undiscovered Soul".
And at the end of 1999 David Bryan released his second solo album: Lunar Eclipse.
Afterwards they came together again to make the soundtrack of EDtv "Real Life"
In 2000, fans finally heard good news... Bon Jovi is working on an album called Crush followed by a big tour in summer! Fans were there at their venue and very excited to see them again on stage afer 4 years... too long for a Bon Jovi fan!!! After, for the first time in 20 years, the band released their first live album: One wild night (kind of best of between 1985 and 2001) and there once again it's followed by a world tour.
2001 was not only music for the singer Jon Bon Jovi, he played in a movie (Vampires: Los Muertos) and went for some shows on Ally McBeal!
Bon Jovi is back with Bounce which has been released in September/October 2002.and it will be followed by a world tour in 2003.
